Wrap it like…
A Shirt
A crisp collar and paper tie turn a plain rectangle into a gift that looks tailored—without requiring tailoring skills.

You need
- Solid-colour wrapping paper
- A contrasting strip of paper for the tie
- Scissors, tape and optional buttons
How to do it
- Wrap the gift neatly in the shirt colour, placing the main seam on the back.
- Cut two matching collar points from folded paper.
- Meet the collar points near the upper centre and tape only their top edges.
- Fold a narrow paper strip into a simple tie or bow tie.
- Slide the tie knot beneath the collar and secure it.
- Add two or three paper circles or spare buttons down one side.
Key trick
Make the collar wider than the tie knot. That small proportion change is what makes the front read as a shirt rather than random paper shapes.
Variations
Try a bow tie, a tiny pocket with a note inside, a camp shirt with bright paper, or a tuxedo version in black and white.
Optional product help
Sharp scissors and double-sided tape help the paper details sit cleanly. Use supplies you already own unless a project genuinely calls for something different.
