This policy explains what information GiftForThat handles when you use this website. GiftForThat is a recommendation and information site; it does not provide user accounts, checkout, payment processing, or order fulfilment.
Information handled when you visit
Our hosting, security, and website systems may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, and error or security logs. This information supports site delivery, reliability, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic reporting.
Gift Finder selections
The Finder processes the choices you submit, such as relationship, occasion, optional life context, closeness, budget, and an optional broad supported region. The Finder does not ask for names, free-text stories, accounts, or precise geolocation. Because Finder results use a query-based web address, selections may appear in your browser history and ordinary server request logs.
Analytics
Host-level traffic reporting may be used to understand page visits and technical performance. With your permission, GiftForThat also uses Google Analytics 4 for aggregate page and Finder event measurement. Analytics receives a clean page path without the Finder query string. GiftForThat does not deliberately send your specific Life Context choice, relationship, occasion, closeness, budget, broad region, or raw Finder query to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, signals, and personalization are disabled.
Newsletter information
The public newsletter form is currently unavailable and has been hidden. If a working subscription form is introduced later, information you choose to provide—typically an email address—will be used to manage that subscription through the identified email-service provider. This policy will be updated when that service is connected.
Cookies and local technologies
WordPress, hosting, security, performance, and affiliate-related services may use cookies or similar technologies needed for operation and security. Google Analytics is not loaded and does not set analytics cookies unless you choose “Allow analytics.” Your analytics choice is stored in your browser and can be changed through the Analytics settings control. GiftForThat does not currently offer public user accounts.
Retailer and affiliate links
When you follow a retailer link, you leave GiftForThat. The retailer and any approved affiliate network may receive ordinary link and request information and may use cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies. GiftForThat does not control those third-party sites or their data practices.
How information is shared and retained
Information may be processed by service providers that host, secure, maintain, or measure the site, and when required by law or needed to protect the site and its users. Retention depends on the type of record and the applicable provider’s operational, security, and legal requirements. GiftForThat does not sell personal information.
Your choices
You can avoid optional Finder context, omit the optional broad location, manage cookies through your browser, and choose whether to follow an external retailer link. Privacy rights vary by location and may include access, correction, or deletion rights, subject to applicable exceptions.
