Wrap it like…
A Suitcase
For travel gifts, going-away presents or anything that deserves a sense of adventure, give the box its own luggage treatment.

DifficultyModerateTime20–30 minCostLowBest forMedium rectangular boxes
You need
- Kraft paper
- Black or dark card
- Cream card for labels
- Tape, scissors and a ruler
How to do it
- Wrap the box in kraft paper with sharp corners.
- Cut two long dark straps and run them vertically around the box.
- Add dark quarter-circle corner protectors to the front face.
- Fold a sturdy card strip into a handle and tape its feet firmly to the top.
- Create simple blank luggage labels in different shapes and layer them on the front.
- Add paper buckle frames if you enjoy small details; skip them if time is short.
Key trick
The handle and two uninterrupted straps do most of the visual work. Build those cleanly before adding labels.
Variations
Use navy paper for a modern carry-on, add map-pattern scraps as labels, or make a tiny suitcase from a jewellery box.
Optional product help
Sharp scissors and double-sided tape help the paper details sit cleanly. Use supplies you already own unless a project genuinely calls for something different.
